An average project has fifty comments, many of which need to be turned into tasks using project management tools. Currently, project managers spend ten hours a week manually transferring Velt comments into tasks. We saw this as an opportunity to reduce time spent on tedious, busy work.
"How might we make converting Velt comments into Asana tasks quicker and easier for project managers?"
As a team, we evaluated several options, including Asana integrations and an in-house project management system. We ultimately decided to prioritize Asana integrations. Within this focus, we needed to develop a method for project managers to control which comments were transferred to Asana. To tailor the experience for different audiences, I began by mapping out the information architecture of the admin authorization page, highlighting four key categories: what the integration involves, authorization, connecting to a workspace, and project details.

Admins tried linking projects before authorizing the integration.
Once I developed high-fidelity prototypes, I proceeded to validate them with admins and project managers. One of our usability testing goals was to assess task completion. We discovered that while admins were eventually able to complete the flow, they tried connecting their project to an Asana project before authorizing the integration.
